Humtown was established as a pattern shop over 50 years ago to serve the foundry industry. Several years ago, they saw an opportunity to commercialize sand 3D printing but needed support to introduce the technology to the industry.
The Barnes Global Advisors' team created an comprehensive
communications strategy, including a video series and
social media campaign introducing the American Foundry Society
and its members to the technology.
Through a series of interviews with key stakeholders, we were able to
learn the business from the inside out, resulting
in being recognized as an extension of Humtown's leadership.
This enabled us to create impactful content that positioned
Humtown as the industry leader in this space.
It also opened doors for Humtown to make connections
and significantly increase their visibility in
the industry.
Humtown has experienced explosive growth in the last few years, expanding from two sand 3D printers to ten. Looking to a toolingless future, they expect to expand into metal 3D printing and are exploring new materials and applications for the technology. Humtown has continued to expand the partnership with TBGA to help with these endeavors.
In addition to the practical side of their operations, Humtown was recognized in 2020 as the National Association of Manufacturers Small to Medium Enterprise Manufacturer of the Year.
